Standard Procedures

The standard procedures are not warranted. Many labs have very different quality systems, calibration equipment, methodology and customer requirements, so one library is not going to fit all. It is up to the user to verify that the procedure used is to the specification and quality standard that they are working to.

  • The library of procedures is over 1200 instruments
  • The Technical support package does not cover writing or editing of standard procedures. They are ‘provided as is’.
  • They are provided as a basis for a Calibration Lab to modify and extend or change for their own needs.
  • The procedures are not always maintained to keep up with manufacturer development. If a change of specification is made by the manufacturer, it is not guaranteed to be updated.
  • Some instruments specifications are not documented or have limited documentation, so a broad approach on deciding verification points is taken.
  • Procedures are written for ‘base model’ Time Electronics calibrators.
For example, if an enhancement pack is fitted to a 5025C, a standard procedure would have to be modified to reflect this.
