The process uses a single instrument record to hold the information for all the devices in a batch. Once the calibration run is completed, the results are saved. PrintCert is then used to extract the results to produce individual certificates for each device in the batch.
Note: The instrument service notes records are used to hold the batch information.
Create the Procedure
Using the procedure wizard create a procedure for the device. Select the number of devices under test in the batch. The wizard will create a procedure repeating tests for the number of devices selected.
In the example above 3 devices are under test, each being calibrated at three test points.
Note: During the batch certificate export process, if the test name contains the device number, it will be automatically removed leaving only the test point percentage. For example ‘(No:1) 50%’ will be modified to show only ‘50%’.
Create an Instrument Record for Each Device in the Batch
For each device in the batch an instrument record must be created. Using the copy and paste function will speed up the process of creating multiple instruments. The I.D. for each instrument must be unique.
There is no need to add a procedure at this point, unless you wish to calibrate the device on its own at some stage. The ID sequence should be considered to help the user with a quick method of identification. In the example above the ID given is B1-3 meaning batch 1 device 3.
Create a Batch Instrument Header Record
A single instrument record is created which contains the test procedure and the ID’s for each device in the batch. This ID number for each device in the batch is entered in Notes > Service Notes.
The top line is the ID of the first device under test; the next line down is the second and so on. These correspond to the device numbers created in the procedure.
Note: If using the 7085 10 channel scanner, these will also correspond to the channel number.
Perform the Calibration Run
Once the calibration run is completed, save the results. At this point the ID numbers can be entered or updated in the service notes area. The ‘batch’ certificate can then be reviewed and printed if required.
PrintCert – Extract the Certificates
To extract the individual certificates from the batch certificate, run the PrintCert application. If required the device ID’s can also be entered or updated in the batch certificate record from Edit > Service Details tab.
To begin the extraction process, click the Edit dropdown from the toolbar and select Edit Tests.
